Jardim de Vasco da Gama
I don’t feel like going to work today, because tomorrow is a public holiday. I’d like to accompany my mother to the market, instead of going to work. 🙂
The statue behind us is the statue of Vasco da Gama, a famous Portuguese explorer who discovered the sea route from Europe to India. This garden was created at the end of the 19th century, and was used to be part of Avenida Vasco da Gama, a long avenue built in 1898 but demolished in 1935.
